At the end of January this year my colleagues and me participated in a working program of a special five-member delegation of the European Parliament that visited Vojvodina and Belgrade in order to examine the facts about a presumed pressure on the minorities in the light of several violent acts, about which the European public was informed.

Sandzak is a region that is divided among Serbia and Montenegro. Six municipalities are in Serbia (Novi Pazar, Sjenica, Tutin, Prijepolje, Priboj and Nova Varoš) and six in Montenegro (Bijelo Polje, Rožaje, Berane, Pljevlja, Gusinje and Plav). On the basis of the 1991 census the number of the inhabitants of Sandzak included 420.000 people – 278.000 in Serbia and 162.000 in Montenegro, of which 54% are Muslims by ethnicity.

Is Bosnia and Herzegovina after Lord Paddy Ashdown has been in the function of the High Representative for almost three years, closer to the success of becoming a modernized country according to European standards or is it closer to the »Balkan Inn«, in which it is waited for Lord Paddy Ashdown to put the light out at the time of his departure and start all over again all that has already been seen once in the spaces of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the beginning of the 1990's?

The international institute IFIMES is analyzing the political situation in Serbia and is evaluating the contribution of particular parties to the progress and rapprochement of this country to the Euro-Atlantic integrations with a special emphasis on the G17 Plus party of the current Vice-President of the Government of Serbia, who is also presiding the government negotiation team for the negotiations with EU, Miroljub Labus.

The nature and system of government in Iraq is responsible for most of its external and internal problems since its inception in 1921 and until the present time. A deficiency exists in the political and constitutional structure for Iraq since the first established constitution “Basic Law” of 1925 until the last constitution of 1970, characterized by excessive centralization and the rule of an individual especially since 1979 the year Saddam Hussein ascended to power.
