entitled

Voices from the deaf room

on Tuesday July 7th,  2015, at 16.00,

in the  »Lev« hotel, 13. floor, »Grad« hall, Vošnjakova 1, Ljubljana.

Lieutenant-General Blagoje Grahovac is a pilot. He held the post of the Assistant to the Joint Chief of the Yugoslav Army Air force. He served as an advisor to the President of the Republic of Montenegro, Adviser to the President of the State of Serbia and Montenegro, and as an Adviser to the President of the Assembly of Montenegro.

The book "Voices from the deaf room," from General Grahovac reveals the war and post-war developments in the General Staff of the Yugoslav Army in Belgrade. General Grahovac was an active participant, and a first-hand witness to the events of that time. All General headquarters across the world have a "deaf room" – in it military war plans are generated, and secured. Documents in this room are labelled as "military secret - strictly confidential", "state secret - strictly confidential". The "Deaf room" is surrounded by a shroud of mystery which terrifies people, and is perceived by the public as a unique bogey-man.

The author is a leading military and geopolitical analyst in Montenegro, and the region.

The content of the book will be discussed by:

  • General Blagoje Grahovac, author
  • Dr. Anton Bebler, professor at the Faculty of Social Science of the University of Ljubljana, and President of the Atlantic Council of Slovenia
  • Dr. Iztok Podbregar, professor at the Faculty of Security Sciences of the University of Maribor, and former Chief of Staff of the Slovenian Army

The book "Voices from the deaf room" (originally in Serbian "Glasovi iz gluve sobe") was published by "Laguna" publishing house from Belgrade in 2015. The first edition has reached a circulation of 20,000 copies. Recently the second edition was released. The book triggered an enormous response.
