IFIMES Joins the SEESARI Initiative

 

LJUBLJANA, 2 April 2024 – IFIMES[1] – the International Institute for Middle-East and Balkan Studies, based in Ljubljana, Slovenia, has held a special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council ECOSOC/UN since 2018. IFIMES collaborates with relevant institutions and individuals from the USA, EU, Gulf States, Balkans (Southeast Europe), and international organizations on projects, studies, and analyses conducted independently or upon request. IFIMES’s activities are particularly focused on the areas of international (external) politics and economy, international relations, advising governmental institutions, companies, individuals, and others.

During an introductory meeting, the director of IFIMES, Associate Professor Dr. Zijad Bećirović, and Dr. Peter Verlič, director of the SEESARI Initiative, recognized the synergistic effects of mutual collaboration. They agreed that both parties could contribute constructively to the accelerated development of transportation, logistics, and infrastructure in Southeast Europe and the Western Balkans.
