Serbia 2026: From an investment-driven model to a knowledge economy and regional leadership
The analysis assesses Serbia’s economic rise as an increasingly important source of regional power, driven by foreign investment, infrastructure development, rising incomes and the expansion of the IT sector. It argues that Serbia now faces a strategic transition from an investment-driven growth model towards a knowledge-based economy, with productivity, innovation, domestic value creation and institutional quality becoming decisive for its future economic and geopolitical standing in the Western Balkans.
