on Monday, 15 April 2019 at 16.00 hin Grand Hotel Union Business, mezzanine, hall “Orchid”, Miklošičeva 3, Ljubljana.

 

 

Lulzim Basha has been the president of the conservative Democratic Party and the leader of the opposition since 2013, he is former Minister of the Interior and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania, and he was also Minister of Public Works, Transport and Telecommunications and mayor of Tirana.

 

He is one of the most recognizable and promising conservative politicians of the younger generation in the region. His efforts are directed towards the Republic of Albania's membership in the EU and to the fight against corruption, crime and nepotism, and to the development of the economy in his country.

 

Lulzim Basha will talk about the current developments in Albania after the withdrawal of the opposition from the parliament, the June local elections, early parliamentary elections, the date of the start of negotiations with the EU and the future of Albania, which is related to regional and neighborly cooperation, membership in the EU, in addition to the existing NATO membership.

 

The lecture will be delivered in English and will be followed by a discussion with the guest lecturer moderated by Assist. Prof. Dr. Zijad Bećirović and Bakhatyar Aljaf.
