In the framework of the "Slovenia and the EU" lecture cycle

 

the International Institute for Middle-East and Balkan Studies (IFIMES)

 

invites You kindly to the round table

 

entitled

 

 

Morality, ethics and politics

which will be held on Thursday, 25 February 2016 at 16.30 h,

in the “Grad” hall of Hotel Lev (13th floor) at Vošnjakova 1, Ljubljana.

 

The issues of morality, ethics and politics are always highly topical, and recently they have again gained special topicality, not only in Slovenia but also globally. They represent is a universal topic. What are the values and ethical principles of the modern society? What principles do politics rest on? Have we indeed become a society that does not respect the basic moral and ethical principles?

 

Those and other issues will be discussed by the following experts:

  • Prof. Dr. Janez Juhant, full professor at the Faculty of Theology, University of Ljubljana, and full member of European Academy of Sciences and Arts in Salzburg
  • Peter Frankl, Editor-in-Chief and Director of the Finance business daily
  • Dejan Steinbuch, a columnist, political commentator and Editor-in-Chief of PortalPlus, Slovenian independent news portal
  • Sebastjan Jeretič, political analyst and in strategist

 

The round table will be held in the Slovenian language and moderated by dr. Zijad Bećirović.
