IFIMES DIRECTORS VISIT CROATIAN FOREIGN MINISTRY

ZAGREB, 26 November 2009 – Today, Director of the Neighbouring Countries and South Eastern Europe Directorate within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integrations of the Republic of Croatia, Ambassador Davor Vidiš, received directors of the International Institute for Middle-East and Balkan Studies (IFIMES) from Ljubljana, Zijad Bećirović and Bakhatyar Aljaf.

During the talks they exchanged positions on open issues in South East Europe and discussed potential crisis areas. They also talked about the measures that could lead to their solution or prevent further development of conflicts.

They agreed that a dialogue is necessary regarding the open issues in the region and stressed the importance of civil society institutions and their role in resolving vital issues in the South East Europe region.
