LJUBLJANA/PODGORICA, 29 Avgust 2025 – Director of the International Institute for Middle-East and Balkan Studies (IFIMES)[1] Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zijad Bećirović, and the President of the Montenegro Parliament, Andrija Mandić, met today in Podgorica.

The two sides exchanged views on the current political and social situation in Montenegro, the Western Balkans region and the wider international arena. Special attention was paid to Montenegro's European integration prospects, improving regional cooperation and the importance of dialogue and stability for sustainable development.
Dr. Bećirović presented the activities and projects of the IFIMES Institute, emphasizing the institute's role in promoting scientific and professional exchange and strengthening ties between countries, peoples, institutions and the academic community.
President Mandić expressed the readiness of the Montenegro Parliament to support initiatives that contribute to democratic development, the rule of law and the strengthening of international cooperation, emphasizing the importance of continuous dialogue both within Montenegro and with relevant international partners, as well as integration into the wider international space.
The two sides agreed that cooperation would continue with joint projects, the exchange of expertise, and the organization of thematic meetings, with the aim of contributing to strengthening peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.
