Well aware that over 90% of the entire global economic growth in the decades to follow will originate from Asia and to its corresponding politico-diplomatic, scientific and socio-cultural dynamism, IFIMES has recently extended its activities by launched the new research department - for Strategic Studies on Asia (DeSSA).

Newly appointed head of IFIMES Department for Strategic Studies on Asia is Prof. Dr. Anis H. Bajrektarevic, experienced diplomat, university professor, prolific academic writer, practitioner and researcher with an extensive expertise on cross-continental issues of Europe and Asia. Prof. Anis is also a long-standing member of and a regular contributing author to the IFIMES.

The IFIMES DeSSA aims to horizontalize, domesticate and regularize all levels of interregional cooperation between the Southeast Europe/Balkans – MENA theatre and particular regions of Asia, as the two are – unfortunately – rather little known and supportive to each other. It will do so by enhancing variety of scientific and applied cooperation modules, especially in the fields of so-called future triangle: security-energy-technology (environment-transport-information).

Fully convinced that the knowledge-based economy starts with and rests upon the knowledge-based P2P exchanges and G2G clearing-house mechanisms, the IFIMES invites all its members and supports to contribute to this exciting endeavour.
