Pacheco: Book presentation "Communicating Sustainability"

In the framework of the "EU and the USA" lecture cycle

the International Institute for Middle-East and Balkan Studies (IFIMES)

invites You kindly to take part at the presentation of the book entitled

»Communicating Sustainability«

which will be delivered by

Massachusetts Senator

Marc R. Pacheco, co-editor of the book

The presentation will be held on Friday, 12 April 2013 at 16 h

in the “Grad” hall of Hotel Lev (13th floor) at Vošnjakova ulica 1, Ljubljana.

The book »Communicating Sustainability« is a result of the Sustainable Future Campaign (http://www.sustainablefuturecampaign.com), which was launched by United Nations Youth and Student Association – Academic Forum for Foreign Affairs (AFA) in Austria. The idea was to bring people with different backgrounds, majors, professions and ideas to talk about the development and sustainability.

Massachusetts Democrat Senator Marc R. Pacheco (D), who is Climate Messenger of the Climate Reality Project founded by Al Gore and also a Chairman of the Massachusetts Senate Committee on Global Warming and Climate Change is a co editor of the book together with Josef Mantl (Spokesman of the Sustainable Future Campaign and Vice President of United nations Youth and Student Association) and Alexander Ochs (Director of the Climate and Energy Programme at the Worldwatch Institute in Washington D.C.) They invited a number of authors to write an article expressing personal insight and professional view on sustainability. The result is a book, which offers a reader a full range of different perspectives, topics and ideas how to focus on global problems.

Senator Pacheco will centre his presentation of the book on the chapter that he wrote about what it is done in Massachusetts in terms of changing law to put in place policies to protect the climate and provide incentives to create growth in the so called green economy. Senator Pacheco is a member of the IFIMES Advisory Board.

The presentation will be delivered in the English language and will be followed by a discussion moderated by Zijad Bećirović and Bakhatyar Aljaf.
