IFIMES Directors host Albanian Ambassador Qazimi
LJUBLJANA, July 2, 2015 - Directors of the International Institute for Middle-East and Balkan Studies (IFIMES) Zijad Bećirović and Bakhatyar Aljaf hosted Pëllumb Qazimi, Ambassador of the Republic of Albania in Slovenia.
In a lengthy and cordial conversation the interlocutors exchanged views on current developments in Albania and the Western Balkans. The Directors presented the activities of the Institute and it's new projects in this year, with emphasis on the Western Balkans region. They also announced the strengthening of the Institute's presence in Albania. The Directors expressed praise regarding the organization of recent local elections in Albania, and commended the Albanian government's current efforts towards ensuring economic progress of Albania, and lasting peace and stability in the Western Balkans. They also expressed the opinion that the government of Prime Minister Edi Rama is one of the most recognizable and successful governments in the region.
Director of the Institute expressed their satisfaction with the activities of Ambassador Qazimi, stating thathis work contributes to the strengthening of relations between Republic of Slovenia and Republic of Albania.
