invites You kindly to take part at the lecture

entitled

“The truth about Macedonia”

which will be delivered by

Zoran Zaev

President of the Social Democratic Union of Macedonia (SDSM)

The lecture will be held on Tuesday, 17th November 2015 at 16.00 h

in the “Grad” hall of Hotel Lev (13th floor) at Vošnjakova 1, Ljubljana.

Zoran Zaev (41) is President of the Social Democratic Union of Macedonia (SDSM) and the leader of Macedonian opposition. He was first elected as Member of the Macedonian Parliament in 2002 and in 2005 he became the Mayor of Strumica.

He graduated from the Faculty of Economics at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje.

Zaev belongs to the modern generation of politicians in Macedonian political scene whose goals are to provide more wellfare for all the citizens of Macedonia and to increase transparency and civil liberties – all of which the incumbent Macedonian government (VMRO-DMPNE and DUI) has failed at, being even accused of illegally wire-tapping more than 20,000 citizens for several years. Together with his SDSM and other opposition parties Zoran Zaev launched the project “The truth about Macedonia” which led to protests of large numbers of citizens regardless of their ethnic origin. With an intervention from the EU the transitional government was established and early election was scheduled for 24 April 2016.

In his lecture Mr. Zaev will talk about the current situation in Macedonia, its future, regional and neighbourhood cooperation and NATO/EU membership.

The lecture will be delivered in the Macedonian language. Simultaneous interpretation into English and Slovenian will be provided.

The lecture will be followed by a discussion with the guest lecturer which will be moderated by Zijad Bećirović and Bakhatyar Aljaf.
