IFIMES directors received by the President of Turkish SAM
ANKARA, June 11, 2015 - Directors of the International Institute for Middle-East and Balkan Studies (IFIMES) Zijad Bećirović and Bakhatyar Aljaf were hosted by Prof. Ali Resul Usul, president of the Center for Strategic Research (SAM) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey.
The International Institute IFIMES and SAM have a Memorandum of Understanding for Cooperation, signed since 2012. At the talks, the interlocutors exchanged views on current developments in the Middle East and the Balkans. IFIMES and SAM agreed to continue to regularly exchange views and seek ways to strengthen cooperation through a new project of issuing joint publications. The Turkish side praised the IFIMES directors for extremely high-profile, very substantive and timely analysis of Institute regarding events in both regions, which are also at the heart of interests of Turkish foreign policy.
The talks were also attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to the Republic of Turkey, Prof. Milan Jazbec.
