The Islamic State: a farce or reality?

 

which will be held on Tuesday, 14 October 2014, at 16.00 h

in the “Grad” hall of Hotel Lev (13th floor) at Vošnjakova 1, Ljubljana.

 

The aim of the round table is to present the current situation in the Middle East with an emphasis on the formation of the Islamic State and its future prospects. It will touch upon the background of the current events and discuss the global politics and interests of individual countries in this context.

 

Those and other issues will be discussed at the round table by the following experts:

 

  • Dr. Uroš Svete, Head of Defence Studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana,
  • Boštjan Videmšek, the Delo daily newspaper journalist and Middle East correspondent,
  • Dr. Klemen Grošelj, an expert in defence studies and geopolitics, and
  • Bakhatyar Aljaf, Director of the IFIMES International Institute.

 

 

The round table will be held in the Slovenian language and moderated by Mr. Zijad Bećirović.
